We would like to inform you about a new business policy that has been implemented and will impact your TD Ameritrade account ending in 1444. After careful consideration, we have made the business decision to no longer open new accounts or handle new business transactions for clients located in certain foreign countries. Our records indicate that you reside in one of these identified foreign countries.
As a result, we've had to limit your account to liquidating (closing) transactions only. This means that you will not be able to open new positions or make deposits into your account, and any opening orders (orders to establish new positions) will be canceled.
We Value You as Our Client - and Want to Continue to Support Your Account
We would like to provide you with full brokerage services as before, but based on your current address in our files, we cannot do so.
However, if you no longer reside in the country currently listed on your account, this policy may not impact you. We may be able to restore full trading to the account. So we're asking you to please take action as soon as possible.
Step 1: Verify your physical and mailing addresses on file.
To ensure our records reflect your most current address, please verify online that both your physical and mailing addresses are correct. Simply log in to your account at tdameritrade.com and click "My Profile" (under Home), then select the "Personal Information" tab.
Step 2: Once you have verified your address information, please take one of the steps below:
If the addresses currently listed on your account are not correct:
This means that this business policy may not apply to you, and we may be able to restore your account to its previous trading status. Please update your addresses online and call us as soon as possible, at 800-669-3900, or at 800-368-3668 if you are calling from outside the United States.
If the addresses currently listed on your account are correct:
This means that, unfortunately, this new business policy applies to you. You have three choices:
Maintain Your Account: You can keep your account open with us, but you will only be able to sell or liquidate your positions, not initiate new transactions or make deposits.
Transfer Your Account: You can transfer your account to another firm. To do so, open an account with the receiving firm, then have that firm initiate the transfer.
Liquidate and Close Your Account: You can sell all your securities and close your account. To request a check or wire transfer for the sale proceeds, log in to your account and click "Deposit/Withdraw" (under Accounts).
